During his several days stay in Russia the president of Serbian Progressive Party has had numerous meetings with the leaders of United Russia, including Boris Gryzlov, President of the Russian State Duma and Constantin Kosachov, President of the Committee of Foreign Affairs. During these meetings he stressed the need of improving economic and political cooperation between Russia and Serbia as well as strengthening relations between Serbian Progressive Party and United Russia.

President Nikolic said to his hosts that Serbian Progressive Party was convinced that the forthcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in Russia would contribute to further development of the Russian Federation and the reforms that United Russia, as a partner of the Serbian Progressive Party, conducted in its country.
